What better way to start off Spring than with a new wreath to decorate your door! This inexpensive DIY coffee filter wreath makes the perfect addition to your Spring decor, and is so versatile you can leave it up year round while adding seasonal accents. I've used a special dye technique on the filters to create an antique looking finish. Keep reading to see how I did it!
To get started, here is what you'll need:

1 Large pack of white coffee filters
3 Large tea bags
12" Craft ring
Hot glue/gun
To start off, you will need to dye/stain the white coffee filters to give them an antiqued look. If you prefer, you could leave them white, or even just use the brown ones. I like the color this staining technique gives because it is more of an off-white color with darker and lighter spots instead of one solid color.
You'll want to boil 2 quarts of water and place the tea bags into the water, letting them seep for about 5 minutes. In the meantime, start separating the coffee filters and lay them out flat on a large baking sheet.

Lay a thin layer of coffee filters and then pour the tea over them. Continue this process until you have covered all of the filters. Pour any remaining tea over them and allow them to soak for at least an hour.
After an hour or so, drain off all of the liquid and transfer the coffee filters to a drying area. I just put them on a cardboard box so I could move it easily. You can sit them out in the sun to help them dry faster, but ideally you would want to let them dry completely overnight.
Now that you've successfully stained your coffee filters, it is time to construct the wreath. You'll want to take one filter at a time and fold it in half like a taco, and then fold it in half again.
Place a pea sized amount of hot glue on the tip and secure it to the wreath form. Repeat this process for ALL of the filters. You can "crumple" them slightly to adjust them or move them into place.
